You can only have one priority

Updated: Jul 16, 2018

My husband says all the time that “you can only have one priority”.  I, being the kind of person I am, ALWAYS want to find a hole in that argument. I’m still looking for a way to disprove it.

I tend to have lots going on with a long list of to-dos in any one given day. I live by my list. I often get distracted by other things not on my list – obviously, things that are NOT a priority. So, here we are and I decided I needed to share what I learned.

I’ve been waiting to launch my new blog page…..for what I’m not sure. I think it’s because I haven’t had the time…..or better yet….it hasn’t been a PRIORITY. Well, it is now. I have drawn the line in the sand and I’m ready to launch on December 7, 2015.

I’ve been given instructions by my webmaster to write some blogs so we can test the workability of our new blog page. Given that date, I had a long laundry list of things that need to be done to make that happen. I allocated three days to accomplish all the tasks that needed to happen to have what I thought would be a “successful” launch.

I kept getting distracted. I sat down to start writing and observed my mind wandering. I tried to write/post my Facebook post for the day, and this is what popped up:  FOCUS= FOLLOW ONE COURSE UNTIL SUCCESSFUL. A message from above!  This was living proof between my Higher Mind and MY logical brain. I realized at that moment that the only way I was going to survive this day and get everything done was to FOCUS.

I can only have ONE priority.  Ugh….my husband was right!

So, away I went. The rest of the day I was focused, got my blogs written. How was it for me?

Focused and flowed nicely. Not that I wasn’t tempted to be distracted. I took a couple of calls, peeked at Facebook, but in the end, I got the majority of my tasks done and ready to go to my webmaster and hopefully I will be their PRIORITY!
